Lady Gaga and Doechii Build Their Own Extravagant Fantasy World in the «Runway» Music Video
Lady Gaga and Doechii have officially released the music video for «Runway,» their first-ever collaboration and the centerpiece of the soundtrack for 20th Century Studios’ upcoming film «The Devil Wears Prada 2.» Directed by award-winning choreographer Parris Goebel, the clip recreates a fictional behind-the-scenes moment at Milan Fashion Week, where models and dancers prepare to hit the catwalk before the two artists themselves take over the runway in a finale of full-on diva energy.
A Parade of Couture, Custom Looks, and Statement Footwear
True to its title, «Runway» is a wardrobe explosion. Gaga and Doechii cycle through an arsenal of custom-made high-fashion pieces, including a Miss Claire Sullivan gown, a custom LUAR twin suit, designs by Bad Binch Tong Tong and Robert Wun, and a custom Gaurav Gupta catsuit. The duo also appears twinning in matching black Opera Platforms by Thom Solo, while Gaga rocks custom red crocodile Thom Solo Opera heels in another scene — a clear nod to Miranda Priestly’s iconic red-heeled imagery from the original film.
The clip is loaded with references to the «Devil Wears Prada» universe: camera flashes, dramatic lighting contrasts, vogue-inspired choreography, and editorial poses that channel the spirit of the fictional Runway magazine.
Plot, Sequel Cast, and Gaga’s Cameo
«The Devil Wears Prada 2» sees Meryl Streep return as Miranda Priestly, the formidable editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, now navigating the collapse of print journalism. Priestly faces off against Emily Blunt’s character — her former assistant turned Christian Dior executive — who controls the advertising dollars Priestly desperately needs to save her magazine. Lady Gaga also makes a cameo appearance in the film.

A Track Built by an All-Star Production Team
The song was co-produced by Andrew Watt alongside Bruno Mars, Cirkut, and Dernst «D’Mile» Emile II. Watt also co-wrote the track with Gaga, Mars, Doechii, Cirkut, D’Mile, and Jayda Love. Sonically, «Runway» fuses house and hip-hop with ballroom culture influences, perfectly aligning with the film’s sophisticated, contemporary tone.
Strong Chart Debut and Streaming Numbers
After its release, «Runway» racked up 2,962,332 unfiltered streams on Spotify on its debut day, entering the Global Spotify chart at number 32. In the United States, the single debuted at number 25 with over 727,000 streams, confirming the massive anticipation for both the song and the film.

Mutual Admiration Between Two Generations of Pop
Although their styles sit on opposite ends of the spectrum, Gaga and Doechii share a deep mutual respect. In an interview with British Vogue, Gaga praised the rapper: «You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary. That’s Doechii to me.» Doechii, in turn, has called herself the «biggest Lady Gaga fan» and previously presented Gaga with the Innovator Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
With «Runway,» both artists confirm that fashion remains one of pop culture’s most powerful storytelling stages — and that this collaboration is just the beginning. Lady Gaga recently wrapped her Mayhem Ball Tour, and Doechii continues her unstoppable rise.
