Sabrina Carpenter Stuns at Lollapalooza With Earth, Wind & Fire Surprise Performance

A magical night in Chicago: funk, disco, and pop lit up the stage in perfect harmony.

Sabrina Carpenter delivered one of the most unforgettable moments of Lollapalooza Chicago on Sunday, August 3rd — and it wasn’t just because of hits like “Espresso” or “Manchild.” The pop sensation took things to the next level when she brought out legendary R&B and funk group Earth, Wind & Fire to join her during her headlining set at the T-Mobile main stage.

Wearing a glittery pink jumpsuit with her name stitched across the chest, Carpenter hyped up the massive crowd saying, “We can just let loose, right? We can just groove!” Moments later, the first notes of EW&F’s 1981 classic “Let’s Groove” filled the park — and the band stepped on stage to a wave of cheers.

Philip Bailey’s signature falsetto rang through the night air, as Sabrina danced across the stage, singing along to the funk-pop anthem and joining Bailey for the chorus with a huge smile on her face. The surprise mini-set didn’t end there — they also delivered a high-energy rendition of the timeless hit “September,” featuring the band’s iconic horn section in full force.

«I’m joining the band, guys!» Sabrina joked enthusiastically as the crowd went wild.

Sunday’s Lolla lineup also featured performances by Mariah the Scientist, Remi Wolf, Finneas, Dominic Fike, and Martin Garrix — rounding out an epic day of music and surprises.

Meanwhile, Sabrina is gearing up for the release of her next album, Man’s Best Friend, set to drop on August 29. The singer recently revealed the full tracklist with the help of an adorable golden retriever puppy.
