After years of speculation, Madonna has officially released Veronica Electronica, a long-rumored remix album featuring rare and unreleased versions of tracks from her iconic 1998 masterpiece, Ray of Light. The project dropped today, Friday, July 25, and is now available on all digital platforms.
Veronica Electronica includes eight remixed tracks from Ray of Light, reimagined by some of the most influential producers in electronic music: William Orbit (who co-produced the original album), Peter Rauhofer, Sasha, BT, and Victor Calderone.
A major highlight of the release is the previously unreleased demo of «Gone, Gone, Gone», co-produced by Madonna and Rick Nowels. The track, recorded in the late ’90s, adds a nostalgic yet fresh layer to this long-awaited project.
The full Veronica Electronica tracklist features remixes of:
- “Drowned World/Substitute For Love”
- “Ray Of Light”
- “Skin”
- “Nothing Really Matters”
- “Sky Fits Heaven”
- “Frozen”
- “The Power Of Good-Bye”

Originally released in February 1998, Ray of Light spent 78 weeks on the Billboard 200, peaking at No. 2 (blocked by the Titanic soundtrack). It spawned four Billboard Hot 100 hits—“Frozen,” “The Power of Goodbye,” “Nothing Really Matters,” and the title track—and earned Madonna four Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Album in 1999.
Though Veronica Electronica was initially conceived as a remix companion to Ray of Light, the idea was shelved due to the album’s massive success, which eventually sold over 16 million copies worldwide. Now, 27 years later, the project finally sees the light of day, celebrating Madonna’s groundbreaking contribution to electronic music and her deep connection to club culture in the late ’90s.
