The return to Camp Rock is officially underway, and while the Jonas Brothers are confirmed to reprise their roles, fans are still wondering if Demi Lovato will step back into the spotlight as Mitchie Torres.
Lovato, who starred in the original Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010), is on board as an executive producer for the long-awaited third installment. However, her on-screen return has not been confirmed. The Jonas Brothers — Nick, Joe and Kevin — will once again play the Gray brothers of fictional band Connect 3 in the film, which began production in Vancouver earlier this year and is set to premiere on Disney+ and Disney Channel next summer.
Director Veronica Rodriguez addressed the speculation in a recent interview, stopping short of confirming a cameo but emphasizing Mitchie’s importance to the franchise. “You can’t really talk about Camp Rock without referencing her. We love Mitchie,” she said, adding that fans should expect plenty of nostalgia and appearances from original characters.

Although Mitchie did not physically appear in the first teaser, her presence was strongly felt through voiceovers, iconic music moments and visual callbacks — including her songwriting notebook. Rodriguez described Camp Rock 3 as a continuation of the story fans know and love, set 15 years after the events of the sequel, with Connect 3 now bigger than ever.
The film will also introduce a new generation of campers, with newcomers Malachi Barton, Liamani Segura, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone and Casey Trotter joining the cast. Maria Canals-Barrera will return as Connie Torres, Mitchie’s mother, with an expanded role.
Rodriguez also revealed that the movie will feature brand-new music from the Jonas Brothers, blending rock with unexpected genres such as Americana pop country, upbeat dance tracks and modern pop influences.

For now, Lovato’s possible on-screen appearance remains a secret — but one thing is clear: Mitchie Torres is still very much a part of the Camp Rock legacy.
