he Beckham family is once again under the media spotlight after Brooklyn Beckham publicly confirmed a complete breakdown in his relationship with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
In a lengthy statement shared on Instagram, the 26-year-old photographer accused his parents of repeatedly interfering in his marriage to actress Nicola Peltz, claiming the situation began even before their 2022 wedding. Brooklyn said he remained silent for years, but felt forced to speak out after what he described as continued press leaks from his family and their team.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled — I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he wrote, directly addressing speculation that his wife influenced the family conflict.
Among his most serious allegations, Brooklyn claimed his parents attempted to sabotage his wedding, that his mother canceled Nicola’s wedding dress design at the last minute, and that there were moments of public humiliation, including an incident during the couple’s first dance. He also accused his family of prioritizing image, media exposure and social media appearances over genuine relationships.
Following the viral post, David Beckham was asked about the situation during an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box while attending the World Economic Forum in Davos. Though he avoided addressing his son’s accusations directly, the former soccer star shared his thoughts on social media.
“I’ve always spoken about the power of social media, for the good and the bad. It can be dangerous,” Beckham said. He added that making mistakes is part of growing up: “Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn.”
