Sunday night, March 22, marked a turning point in the career of Jennie. The global star took the stage at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, headlining the closing night of ComplexCon Hong Kong and officially cementing her new chapter as a solo artist.
The atmosphere reflected a blend of fan eras: longtime supporters of BLACKPINK stood side by side with a growing wave of “Rubies,” the fan identity tied to her 2025 debut solo album Ruby. Inside the packed venue, both worlds merged into a single, electric energy.
Delivering a tight 30-minute set, Jennie leaned fully into her evolving artistic direction. Her sound—now rooted in contemporary R&B with touches of hip-hop and electronic influences—was matched by a bold stage presence, sharp choreography, and a more provocative attitude.
One of the standout moments came with the live debut of “Dracula”, her collaboration with Tame Impala. The track, shaped by the signature production of Kevin Parker, was brought to life through dark visuals and an immersive atmosphere, sparking one of the strongest reactions from the crowd.
Beyond the performance itself, the night marked several milestones: it was Jennie’s first-ever solo concert appearance in China, and she also became the first female artist to headline this stage at the festival.
Just weeks after BLACKPINK wrapped up their Deadline Tour in the same city, Jennie proves she can command the spotlight on her own. This new era doesn’t just expand her sound—it reinforces her status as a global force.
