Addison Rae has weighed in on the persistent rumors surrounding an alleged feud between Charli xcx and Taylor Swift, making it clear that she prefers to stay away from unnecessary drama.
In a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times, the TikTok star and singer was asked about so-called “pop girl rivalries” and whether she ever feels pressured to take sides. “There’s so much more to all these things,” Rae said, adding, “There are people that do weird things, and I try to avoid those people.”
Rae has a close friendship with Charli xcx, who supported her early music career. The two have collaborated on tracks like “2 Die 4” and “Von Dutch”, strengthening their creative bond. Meanwhile, speculation about tension between Charli and Swift has circulated for years, despite neither artist ever publicly confirming any conflict.

Much of the chatter stems from Charli’s song “Sympathy Is a Knife”, which some fans believe references Swift, as well as chart competition and industry connections tied to past relationships. Still, both artists have shown mutual respect. Charli has previously defended Swift from hostile fans, while Swift herself has praised Charli’s songwriting and artistic vision.
Reflecting on rivalries in the music industry, Rae noted that competition is nothing new. “It doesn’t have to be a thing, but I get it — it’s entertaining,” she said. “I’m not really interested in that for myself.”
Rae also opened up about her own behind-the-scenes experiences in the industry, mentioning creative conflicts and confusing situations with collaborators, emphasizing that not all drama happens in public.
