Daddy Yankee faces multimillion-dollar lawsuit in Chile over alleged fraud linked to canceled tour.

Puerto Rican artist Daddy Yankee is being sued in Chile for over $740,000, accused of fraud and malicious use of private documents following the cancellation of a planned 2018 tour with Luis Fonsi.

According to Cristián Argomedo, representative of the Chilean company Empire Digital Limitada, Daddy Yankee’s team allegedly received more than $900,000 in advances, production expenses, and luxury accommodations for scheduled shows in Santiago, Coquimbo, and Concepción, which were later called off.

The production company claims the cancellation was part of a fraudulent scheme, including the presentation of a forged English-language contract.

Total damages are estimated at over 700 million Chilean pesos, covering investments, advertising, and payments already made to Luis Fonsi.

After the cancellation, Daddy Yankee reportedly performed two shows at Movistar Arena with another promoter, which, according to the lawsuit, supports the accusation of intentional deception.
