Hilary Duff Confirms Music Comeback With New Single “Mature”

After nearly a decade away from music, Hilary Duff is officially returning with a brand-new single titled “Mature,” set to arrive this Thursday (Nov. 6). The singer and actress announced the release on Monday (Nov. 3), sharing the moody cover art on Instagram along with a message to fans: “So happy this is finally yours to hear. Been keeping this one quiet too long.”

Now 37, the former Disney Channel star has signed with Atlantic Records and is preparing to relaunch her music career alongside a forthcoming docuseries that will chronicle her creative and personal journey. The project, directed by Grammy-nominated filmmaker Sam Wrench (Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour), will follow Duff as she balances family life, recording sessions, rehearsals, and her first live performances in more than ten years.

Duff revealed to Variety that her new era is a “love note” to her loyal LGBTQ+ fanbase. “You know it’s all for them. It’s just to impress them,” she joked, adding that she’s been in the studio working with her husband, singer-producer Matthew Koma, and “a few other amazingly talented people.”

Best known for her breakout role in Lizzie McGuire in the early 2000s, Duff successfully transitioned into pop music with hits like “Come Clean” and “Wake Up.” Her last studio album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., was released in 2015 — making “Mature” her first new music in nearly ten years.
